Shemini/”Eighth”, Leviticus 9:1-11:47, commences with the closing of the ordination of Aaron and his sons, having been consecrated for 7 days. As it is now the 8th day, it is time for the Tabernacle and this priesthood to assume their responsibilities! The significance of this happening on the 8th day cannot be overlooked! 8 is the number of new beginnings, as well as the day of circumcision marking a covenant that is being entered into.
